Legion of Merit – This recognition was established by ABC in 1998. A Boxer male, in order to join the ranks of Legion of Merit, must sire FOUR or more producers (either Sires of Merit or Dams of Merit). In order to join the ranks of Legion of Merit, a Boxer female must beget THREE or more producers (either Sires of Merit or Dams of Merit) and the producers must be registered with AKC. The Boxer joining the ranks of Legion of Merit does not have to be a Sire of Merit, Dam of Merit or a Champion to qualify for this recognition. Sire of Merit – A SOM (Sire of Merit) is a male Boxer that has produced 7 AKC Champions. The recipients are announced at the ABC Dinner at the National each year. ABC will pay for one award per category of award if granted to an ABC member; for non-ABC members or where multiple copies of the award are desired, the plaques may be ordered upon payment to ABC, plus shipping and handling, if applicable. Where more than one ABC member exists, the ABC members shall determine among themselves which ABC member shall receive the award and which ABC member shall pay for the duplicate, if a duplicate is desired, and timely advise the Of Merit chair.
