Mail ballots: The ABC teller, Barbara Shayesteh, checks each voter number on the outside of the sealed envelopes against the ABC voter list. If the number is not valid, the envelope is not opened and is an invalid ballot. As soon as the voting deadline is reached, the teller opens the envelopes bearing valid voting numbers and tallies the ballots. She then prepares a report to the ABC secretary and sends it via email with the results.

Electronic ballots: There are no interim results during electronic balloting. At the close of voting, the ABC secretary, Sandy Orr, receives the results of the balloting from Election Runner.

The ABC secretary then combines the voting results from the mailed ballots and the electronic ballots and reports the results to the ABC Board of Directors. The results are also published on the ABC website and “In the Know.”
