Annual Plaque Awards (Conformation)

Annual Plaque Awards are granted for the following achievements awarded each year at the Annual Dinner at the National Specialty, using the AKC calendar for January 1 through December 31 for the prior year. ABC is not responsible for correction of AKC records after the time periods of when ABC has received the official AKC records for the applicable time period as there will be no retroactive recognition. The achievements are calculated using the methodology shown below. To be eligible for the award, at least one of the breeders or one of the owners must be a member of ABC or a member of an ABC member club. ABC will pay for one award per category of award if granted to an ABC member; for non-ABC members or where multiple copies of the award are desired, plaques may be ordered upon payment to ABC, plus shipping and handling, if applicable. Where more than one ABC member exists, the ABC members shall determine among themselves which ABC member shall receive the award and which ABC member shall pay for the duplicate, if a duplicate is desired, and timely advise the Awards chair.

Most Best of Breed Wins – Using AKC records All Breed Reports

Most Best in Specialty Wins – Using AKC Conformation Report modified to add Designated Specialties as approved by ABC

Most Working Group 1st Wins – Using AKC All Breed Report

Most Best In Show Wins – Using AKC All Breed Report

Most Dogs Defeated [using Breed totals] – Using AKC Breed Report

Sire Producing The Most Champions – Using AKC Newly Titled Champions Report

Dam Producing The Most Champions – Using AKC Newly Titled Champions Report

Kennel Breeding The Most Champions – Using AKC Newly Titled Champions Report for breeder name. The name of the kennel does not have to be in the dog’s registered name.

Sire of Merit With the Most Performance Titled Get – Using ABC records for SOM/DOM, AKC New Titles Report for the applicable year and AKC Performance Records for the applicable year. The get do not have to be champions. The sire will not be credited for any get that obtained titles obtained by his get prior to the year that sire acquired SOM status. Any sire’s get may only be credited to the sire one time.

Dam of Merit With the Most Performance Titled Get – Using ABC records for SOM/DOM, AKC New Titles Report for the applicable year and AKC Performance Records for the applicable year. The get do not have to be champions. The dam will not be credited for any get that obtained titles obtained by her get prior to the year that dam acquired DOM status. Any dam’s get may only be credited to the dam one time.

Most Bred By Exhibitor Dog Wins – Using AKC Conformation Report adjusted by ABC as follows. The winner of the BBE Class, BBE Puppy and BBE Adult Class must win that class with competition in order to receive 1 point and be eligible to obtain any additional points at that event. If that dog also wins Winners Dog, it will be granted an additional 1 point. If that dog also wins BOW, BOS or BOB, it may also get an additional 1 point for each of those additional wins. If the applicable class is won without competition, even if the dog also won WD, BOW, BOS or BOB at that event, no points will be awarded.

Most Bred By Exhibitor Bitch Wins –Using AKC Conformation Report adjusted by ABC as follows. The winner of the BBE Class, BBE Puppy and BBE Adult Class must win that class with competition in order to receive 1 point and be eligible to obtain any additional points at that event. If that dog also wins Winners Bitch, it will be granted an additional 1 point. If that dog also wins BOW, BOS or BOB, it may also get an additional 1 point for each of those additional wins. If the applicable class is won without competition, even if the dog also won WB, BOW, BOS or BOB at that event, no points will be awarded.

Other Conformation Recognitions

Most Junior Showmanship Wins With A Boxer — Using AKC Junior Recognition Points Summary for the AKC Junior Showmanship Year (Junior Showmanship). The AKC year for Junior Showmanship is July 1 through June 30 each year. This plaque is granted at the ABC Annual Dinner at the National Specialty. There is no requirement that the Junior, or his/her parents, be members of ABC or a member of an ABC member club.

New Titles (Conformation) — After notice from AKC to ABC, ABC will periodically issue to the primary owner of record a certificate reflecting the title of Champion, Grand Champion, Grand Champion Bronze, Grand Champion Silver, Grand Champion Gold, Grand Champion Platinum, etc. To be eligible for this certificate one of the owners must be an ABC member.

Best of Winners Plaque – Upon approval of a specialty or designated specialty by ABC, an ABC member club will be issued a Best of Winners plaque form to be filled out and sent to the Best of Winners plaque committee who will send a plaque to the member club. The plaque would be presented to the Best Of Winners by that club at its specialty. The premium for the show must reflect “Best of Winners Plaque offered by the American Boxer Club”. There is no requirement that the recipient of the BOW plaque be a member of ABC or a member of an ABC member club.
