She is truly an example of a working dog and achieved all the above titles in less than four years of her continuing career. In conformation, she finished her American championship with three majors including a 5-point win. In obedience. She has obtained the coveted "Dog World Award" for consistently high scores, has multiple High in Trials, and achieved the ultimate, the Utility title. Agility is the third category she has excelled in with dozens of perfect scores and placements. Her 27 titles, including a new International Championship, prove her to be an all-around traveled girl.
Being the "all purpose" Boxer, Chili has excelled in other areas as well. Schutzhund was a 12 mile endurance test and a different form of obedience. Therapy work and temperament testing demonstrated she has a loving, caring heart and personality. Her travels to Canada and Bermuda added new friends in obedience and conformation alike. The United Kennel Club as honored her in all three of their titled categories, CH, CDX, and Agility Trial Champion.
In versatility, she was given the highest award, VO (Versatility Outstanding) and Tracy was also honored with The Extra Mile Award for the year 2000 for her commitment to the canine world.
Chili has herded sheep!!! (Herding Instinct Certificate). Tracy said that this was the highlight of Chili's working career. She went dive-bombing into the herd of sheep getting nothing but wool she could not shake out of her mouth..Talk about prey drive!
Chili is a regular blood donor as are the others in the Sunchase Kennel. They have been nominated to the Oklahoma Pet Hall of Fame for their efforts in saving other canine companions. The profits benefit Boxer Rescue for area dogs in need.
Tracy maintains Chili is not a special dog to the breed, "anyone can campaign a dog to this level with enough love and commitment. Boxers Just Wanna Have Fun!" First and foremost she is Tracy's delightful companion.
Chili's career is definitely not over. Look for her in tracking, UDX work, and more agility. But please, no more sheep.
Tracy would like to thank Lori McClain for handling her in conformation and Gail Brown, who is Tracy’s personal trainer and mentor in obedience.
